Rivotril 2mg (Clonazepam)*Galenika is a benzodiazepine medicine used to treat seizures and panic disorder.
This drug may also be used to treat movement disorders, Restless Leg Syndrome, relieve trigeminal neuralgia, atypical, akinetic, myoclonic, or absence seizures, etc. The precise mechanism by which clonazepam exerts its antiseizure and antipanic effects is unknown, although it is believed to be related to its ability to enhance the activity of GABA.
Clonazepam belongs to the benzodiazepine family like diazepam, alprazolam, lorazepam, flurazepam, and others. It acts by enhancing the effect of a neurotransmitter that reduces brain activity. Excessive brain activity can produce anxiety which may lead to psychiatric disorders.
Rivotril 2mg (Clonazepam)*Galenika is also used to treat symptoms of akathisia (restlessness and a need for constant movement) that may occur as a side effect of treatment with antipsychotic medications (medications for mental illness) and to treat acute catatonic reactions (a state in which a person does not move or speak at all or moves or speaks abnormally). Talk to your doctor about the possible risks of using this medication for your condition.
Clonazepam tablets should be swallowed with a glass of water, regardless of whether you have eaten beforehand or not. It is most effective when taken regularly at the same time every day. One 2 mg tablet should be taken one or two times a day. As a best practice don’t exceed your recommended daily dosage and neither take the treatment for longer than advised.
